Baypreg® and Baypreg® F

Baypreg® F composite is a two-component polyurethane system used in compression molding of natural fiber mats alone, or fiber-reinforced sandwich panels, to produce a variety of composite automotive parts. Bayer MaterialScience developed the Baypreg composite system be utilized with different combinations of reinforcing mats and honeycomb cores. The material is well suited for door panels and load panels, as well as sun shades. The Baypreg F polyurethane system replaces glass-reinforced thermosetting plastics when a solvent-free resin with excellent mechanical properties is needed.

The Baypreg F composite system creates a sandwich structure around a spacer core. This sandwich composite features high-density polyurethane composite layers on both sides of the core, resulting in a composite with high load-bearing properties for horizontal parts.
